Night sleeper train
Night train route, cabin, fare and booking site set in timetable typography
How it was made
A train timetable is a table where information stands on monospaced numerals, rules and alignment alone.
Times, stops, cabins and fares are made readable in a table with a time axis.
The stations and cities are real; the operator, train numbers, times and fares are invented.
Fares match real night train ranges (seat €34~44, sleeper €122~279). Return trip times and weekend times are calculated.
There are two motions: a route drawing that is drawn as you scroll, and a transition where a route card bar stretches into the detail bar.
