How it was made

The original is the site of a publisher that runs two imprints: a monthly literary magazine and books.

The home new books slide changes its background for each book to a dark color taken from the cover. The cover's average color is raised 2.1× in saturation and kept below 70 in lightness.

The book band moves one cell (385px) over 5 seconds and pauses for 0.5 seconds. These settings were found in the recording log and carried over.

The book list is two columns fixed to the screen height. Only the wide column scrolls on its own, and the narrow column links to the other imprint.

The 45 book covers were made by typesetting invented titles and authors on Unsplash photos. No real authors or books are included.

Gray text #999 had a 2.8:1 contrast, so it was changed to #6b6b6b (5.3:1).
