How it was made
The original is a collection site for 6 safari lodges. It is divided into lodge, experience, conservation, story and booking pages.
Only the hero and final photos fill the screen width. The other photos are staggered on a cream (#F5EEE9) background.
The hero title rises letter by letter at 50ms intervals over 1600ms. The curve and timing measured from the original were used as is.
Lodge detail pages are split into 8 chapters. A bottom bar always shows the current chapter name and a booking button, and the gallery uses the same bar.
The hero video was replaced with a crossfade of 4 photos. Newsreader takes the place of the original typeface PP Fragment.
The 183 photos were chosen from Pinterest and Unsplash. 40 that looked AI-generated were replaced with real photos.
