Kerfmoor Timber Yard

How it was made

A timber merchant and sawmill on the riverside of Sallowby, a fictional town. It lists density, hardness and shrinkage grades and unit prices by thickness for 12 species.

The home page is 12 full-height vertical bands. Each band's width is that species' stock in m³, and pressing a band expands it horizontally.

The background is a single sky blue (#9CC3DE), and each band uses the heartwood color of its species. Typefaces are Rokkitt and Albert Sans.

The board calculator gives m³, board feet, weight, planing cost and 20% VAT. Out-of-range input is blocked with an error.

The cutting plan lays parts onto stock boards and draws them as bar diagrams. Saw kerf and offcut lengths are shown in mm.

The quote request gathers the saved lines and moves to a confirmation step. Nothing is actually sent.

Where and how to use it

Fits material suppliers that publish stock and unit prices by species and size. Stock filter, price table, quantity calculator and quote request are linked.

Points to check

Stock and times are fixed values, and placing a quote does not reduce stock. Species figures are approximations from public data.
